Though this Department at GMC is in its fledgling stage, yet it has, quite surprisingly, shown a lot of promise. The number of its postgraduate students has swelled in a short period of time and excellent academic results have started pouring in. An experienced and diligent faculty runs this Department and its students are, generally, studious who are quite often seen debating politics and national and international political scenario in and outside the classrooms. The M.A. in Political Science gives an advanced base to the theoretical and empirical understanding of politics, both in the democratic and democratizing societies. It encourages the students to get engaged, critically, in a wide-range of debates about the past, present and future of democracy. Those who do M.A. in Political Science learn the skills, which are useful to them for making careers in politics, teaching or the media.
